About
A small firm with an operator’s point of view.
Fieldwork AI Consulting helps small and mid-sized businesses put ChatGPT, Claude and workflow automation to work on the business they already run. We are based in Tacoma, Washington, and work with companies across the United States, remotely.
01What we believe
Four working principles.
Specific work beats general enthusiasm.
AI earns its place when it removes a particular, repeated piece of work that someone can name. We start there, not with a tool.
The simplest reliable approach usually wins.
A clear instruction, an approved document or an ordinary rule often does the job. We add AI where it genuinely helps — interpreting, extracting, drafting — and stop there.
People keep the decisions that matter.
Consequential and ambiguous situations go to a named person. Missing information is flagged, not guessed.
You should own what you pay for.
Everything runs in your company’s accounts with named users. Our handover is written so you never need us to keep using it.
Founder
Gabe Petersen
Founder, Fieldwork AI Consulting
Gabe runs businesses before advising them. He founded Kaizen Properties, a commercial real-estate investment company whose holdings include self-storage facilities and mobile home and RV parks, and hosts The Real Estate Investing Club, an interview podcast with active investors, operators and lenders, on the air since 2020.
He also builds things: the podcast’s website and operations, and 9 iPhone apps published under his personal developer account — tools for underwriting a storage deal, logging a park’s water system or quoting a notary job. Before Fieldwork, he worked in management consulting.
Fieldwork brings those habits together: understand how the work actually happens, change one specific thing, test it with real examples, and leave the people doing the work in control.
02How we work
Small by design.
Nationwide, remotely
Assessments, configuration, testing and training happen over video calls and shared screens, so location does not limit who we can help.
Bounded engagements
A workspace for one team, or one workflow at a time, with written caps and published prices. Larger needs are assessed separately or politely declined.
Independent
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Monday.com, Make or any other vendor. We recommend tools on fit, and you buy them directly.
A sister agency for marketing
Marketing websites, review management and local visibility are handled by Rainier Growth Partners, a separately branded agency. Fieldwork stays focused on operations.
Next step
Start with one conversation about one piece of work.
An Automation Assessment is a first conversation about fit: what your team does repeatedly, which tool you already use, and whether a workspace setup or a single workflow is the sensible first step. If neither fits, we will say so.
